2. How did you come up with your website name?

I wanted something that was related to travel, catchy and fun. I thought Travarella captured this perfectly.

3. What more can you tell us about your blog? What are your goals or intentions for it?

I started Travarella as a way of chronicling my travel escapades as well as the tips, advice, and useful information that I have picked up over the years. My goal is to inspire others, who just like me, dream of seeing and experiencing everything they possibly can in this beautiful world of ours.

4. Can you provide us with a Throw Back Thursday picture of one of your favorite travel memories with an explanation?

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

This photo was taken on my first trip to Hong Kong. For me, it encapsulates the true charm of Hong Kong. I love the the juxtaposition of the gaudy neon signs set against the crumbling and decaying apartment buildings; so uniquely beautiful. I cannot wait to go back.

5. Which are your favorite and least favorite cities you’ve traveled to? Why?

My favourite cities are constantly changing with every new place that I visit but the two that will always stay in my heart are New York and Venice. There are no words that can ever truly describe the hold that New York has over me. To this day it is still the most awe-inspiring place I have ever been to. Venice is simply exquisite and I love the idea that no matter where you turn, there is something spectacular and incredibly beautiful awaiting you.
I don’t really have a least favourite city to be honest. I’ve always been lucky to have found something that I love in every place that I have visited.

6. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? Where?

I have always been rather reserved when it comes to trying new foods however when I headed to seafood heaven Tai O, I had to try the grilled cuttlefish. Sold from a little street vendor and grilled to order, it was absolutely delicious. It has definitely made me more adventurous with trying new foods in the future.

7. Who are your travel idols?

My travel idol is photo journalist Alexandra Avakian. She has so much travel experience and documented some of the most unique and culturally rich places on the planet. I would love to experience the world the way she does, through her lens.

8. What’s your best travel tip?

My best travel tip is to truly appreciate everywhere that you go. No matter where you are, there is always something new and exciting to be discovered. As St. Augustine so eloquently put “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” I love the idea that every new place is another page read in the tome of the world.

9. Which is your favorite post you’ve written? Please provide a link.

My favourite post would have to be my top 10 free things to do and see in Las Vegas.
For me, the best things when travelling are always those that don’t cost any money and I ‘d like to think that this post shows that.

10. What advice would you give to someone new to travel blogging?

The best advice I would give would be to write about what you love. Blogging can be hard work and takes a lot of time and commitment. When you are truly passionate about something though, you enjoy every moment.
